Appointment statuses reference
Each role slot on a fixture (Referee, AR1, AR2, Assessor) has its own appointment status. This page explains what each status means and what actions move a slot between statuses.

Unassigned
A slot is unassigned when no official has been placed in it. Unassigned slots appear in the appointments queue as needing attention.
A fixture is not considered fully appointed until all required role slots are confirmed.
Pending
When the appointments team assigns an official to a slot, it immediately moves to pending. The official receives a notification inviting them to confirm.
pending means: assigned but awaiting confirmation from the official.
If an official does not confirm within your society's deadline, the slot will remain flagged on the appointments page.
Confirmed
Once the official clicks Confirm in RefMatch, the slot moves to confirmed. The appointments team is notified.
confirmed means: the official has acknowledged the appointment and committed to attending.
Declined
If an official declines an appointment (currently handled outside RefMatch by contacting the appointments team), the appointments team can mark the slot as declined.
A declined slot reverts to unassigned and needs to be filled with a different official.
Appointment status vs fixture status
Appointment status and fixture status are separate:
- Fixture status - whether the match itself is draft, confirmed, cancelled, or completed
- Appointment status - whether a specific official slot has been filled and confirmed
A fixture can be confirmed (published) while still having unassigned appointment slots.
