Submitting a captain's card
After a match, club captains can submit feedback on the match officials via the captain's card in RefMatch. This feedback is reviewed by society administrators and contributes to the development record for officials.
Who can do this?
| Role | Can submit captain's card? | Can view all feedback? |
|---|---|---|
| Captain (CLUB_FEEDBACK_SUBMITTER) | Yes | No - own club only |
| Society Admin | No - view only | Yes |
| Appointments Manager | No - view only | Yes |
| MOD / MOC | No - view only | Yes |
| Referee | No | No |
How captains receive the form
The appointments team can send a captain's card request after a match. The captain receives an email with a unique link. The link is specific to that match and that club - it does not require the captain to have a RefMatch account.
Note: If you are a captain and did not receive a link, contact your club's fixtures secretary or the society appointments team.
Completing the form
- Open the captain's card link from your email
- You will see the match details (date, competition, teams, referee name)
- Complete the feedback sections. These typically cover:
- Overall conduct and professionalism of the referee
- Communication with players and captains
- Consistency of decision-making
- Any specific incidents or comments
- Each section uses a rating scale (e.g. 1-5) plus an optional comments field
- Click Submit when complete
Tip: Be specific in your comments. Generic ratings without context are less useful for official development than brief examples.
What happens to my feedback?
After submission:
- Your feedback is recorded against the match and the referee
- Society administrators and the MOD/MOC team can view it
- It may be used as part of the referee's RMDE development process
- The referee does not see your name - feedback is associated with the club, not the individual captain
Note: Captain's card feedback is not anonymous - it is visible to society admins and linked to your club. It is treated as confidential and not shared with the referee directly.
Viewing previous submissions
If your club has submitted captain's cards in the past, you can view them via your club confirmation link. The history shows ratings and comments for previous matches.
