Troubleshooting: availability
My availability is not saving
Symptom: I mark myself as available or unavailable, but the setting reverts or does not appear to save.
Cause: This can be caused by a connectivity issue or a session timeout.
Fix:
- Refresh the page and try again
- Check that you are still logged in (if not, log in again - your settings should persist)
- If the problem repeats, try a different browser or clear your browser cache
A date is locked and I cannot change my availability
Symptom: I try to change my availability for a date but the option is greyed out or shows a lock icon.
Cause: A society admin or appointments manager has locked availability for that date. This is typically done when a date has been reserved for a specific event or the appointments are finalised.
Fix: Contact your society admin or appointments secretary. They can unlock the date if the lock was applied in error.
My availability is showing as "no response" even though I set it
Symptom: The appointments team tells me my availability shows as no response, but I remember setting it.
Cause: Availability may have been set for the wrong date, or may have been cleared when the season rolled over.
Fix:
- Log in and navigate to Availability
- Find the specific date in question
- Check the current setting - update it if needed
- If you cannot find the date, it may be outside the current season window
I cannot see other officials' availability
Symptom: I want to check another official's availability but cannot see it.
Cause: Only certain roles can view all officials' availability. Referees can only see their own.
Required roles: APPOINTMENTS_MANAGER, SOCIETY_ADMIN, or TRAINING_TEAM to view all officials' availability (AVAILABILITY_VIEW_ALL permission).
Fix: If you are an appointments manager or admin and still cannot see all availability, check that your role is correctly assigned in Admin > Members.
